Authentic Tommylee Lewis Jersey

The defending Super Bowl champion Eagles are big underdogs on Sunday in New Orleans — so big that it’s almost unprecedented. The online sports book Bovada has the Eagles as a nine-point underdog Authentic Tommylee Lewis Jersey , which is the biggest underdog any defending Super Bowl champion has been since 2009.The last time the defending champs were such big underdogs was on November 29, 2009, when the defending champion Steelers were on a two-game losing streak and down to Dennis Dixon at quarterback in place of the injured Ben Roethlisberger when they went to Baltimore to take on the Ravens. That game opened with the Ravens as nine-point favorites. The Ravens would end up winning 20-17.The Eagles probably could have circled at New Orleans as one of their toughest games of the season as soon as the schedule came out. But few expected the defending champs to be underdogs by more than a touchdown. That line reflects what a disappointing season it’s been in Philadelphia, as well as what an impressive season it’s been in New Orleans. The Los Angeles Chargers placed seven players in the Pro Bowl, including safety Derwin James, one of six rookies across the league to make the game.James, a first-round draft choice, will be joined on the AFC squad by veteran quarterback Philip Rivers, wide receiver Keenan Allen, running back Melvin Gordon, defensive end Melvin Ingram, center Mike Pouncey and special-teamer Adrian Phillips for the game, which will be played Jan. 27 in Orlando. James and Phillips are the only starters, though.Rivers is a backup to Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes Tre'Quan Smith Jersey , one of 29 first-time Pro Bowlers. That, of course, includes all the rookies: James, Giants running back Saquon Barkley, Seahawks punter Michael Dickson, Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay, Indianapolis guard Quenton Nelson and Cleveland cornerback Denzel Wads. Lindsay is an undrafted player.New England's Tom Brady is the other AFC quarterback, making it for the 14th time. Noticeably missing is the Colts' Andrew Luck.New Orleans, led by quarterback Drew Brees, Dallas and Chicago paced the NFC with five players each. Brees is the starter, backed up by Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers and the Rams' Jared Goff.Buffalo, Oakland and Tampa Bay had no Pro Bowl selections.Pittsburgh and Kansas City each had six players chosen, including such first-timers as Steelers running back James Conner and Mahomes, both having breakthrough years.Cleveland has a first overall draft choice in the game 鈥?not Baker Mayfield Manti Te'o Jersey , but 2017 top pick Myles Garrett at defensive end."Football is a team game and you can't do it on your own," said Garrett, who leads the Browns with 12陆 sacks. "I'm happy to be able to share this experience with Denzel because this honor is really a testament to our entire defense."Among the perennial AFC choices returning to the game are Houston DE J.J. Watt, Pittsburgh WR Antonio Brown, Baltimore guard Marshal Yanda and safety Eric Weddle, Cincinnati DT Geno Atkins and Denver LB Von Miller."To get recognized by your peers, the coaches and the fans, it means a lot," Weddle said. "It's always special to put in the hard work and to try your best and then get recognized. The Pro Bowl is something I never take for granted, and I'm pretty stoked about it. Each year you just work hard and try to play your very best. To receive recognition for what you do on the field, even if it may not show up in other areas, is awesome."For the NFC, frequent repeaters include Atlanta WR Julio Jones and C Alex Mack, Dallas tackle Tyron Smith Limited Rick Leonard Jersey , inside LBs Luke Kuechly of Carolina and Bobby Wagner of Seattle, Arizona CB Patrick Peterson, Rams DT Aaron Donald and Bears LB Khalil Mack. One of the newcomers, Chicago DT Akiem Hicks, sounded overwhelmed by the honor."I have played the game of football my entire life and this is the greatest accolade I've ever achieved," he said. There will be a brother combination at center for the AFC as Maurkice Pouncey of Pittsburgh is the starter ahead of Mike Pouncey. The Jets, despite a 4-10 record, have three Pro Bowlers in safety Jamal Adams, kicker Jason Myers and return specialist Andre Roberts 鈥?all first-timers.Pro Bowl coaching staffs will be from the losing teams in the AFC and NFC divisional playoffs with the best regular-season records. Each player on the winning Pro Bowl team receives $67,000, while each player on the losing squad earns $34,000. Custom Arizona Cardinals Jerseys

Authentic Sean Mannion Jersey

Rams quarterback Jared Goff has rapidly descended from an MVP candidate to the bottom of the NFL.Over the last three weeks Authentic Sean Mannion Jersey , Goff is at the very bottom: He’s dead last among all starting quarterbacks in passer rating over the last three weeks of the season. Goff’s passer rating over the last three weeks is 51.3. The only quarterback in the NFL who has started even one game and had a worse passer rating in that time is Mark Sanchez, who has been benched. From Week One through the Rams’ spectacular Monday night win over the Chiefs, Goff threw 26 touchdown passes and six interceptions. In the three games since that win over the Chiefs, Goff has thrown one touchdown pass and seven interceptions. Those three games were a win over the Lions that was closer than it should have been, a loss to the Bears last week and a loss to the Eagles last night. The Rams’ two-game losing streak has put them at serious risk of losing out on a bye week in the NFC playoffs. They may find themselves having to host a game in the wild card round, and then, if they win that have to win both at Chicago and at New Orleans to get to the Super Bowl. Considering that the Rams have already lost at Chicago and at New Orleans, that’s a tough path. And it’s probably an impossible path if Goff doesn’t start playing better. RB Todd GurleyUsually it’s by air Limited Aaron Donald Jersey , but on frigid Fall days sometimes victory arrives by ground, on a dreadlocked chariot named Todd Gurley. On a day where many fans wondered if their MVP candidate was perhaps being underutilized at times, Gurley ended up busting his way to 208 yards anyway, and averaging 7.4 yards per carry in the process. Whenever the Rams offense went to Gurley on Sunday, he delivered; whether that meant picking up the blitz, dragging a few Broncos to the first down marker, or cruising upfield for a big gain. If he can keep it up, someday Todd will be mentioned with other Rams Cadillacs like Eric Dickerson Todd Gurley Jersey , Marshall Faulk, and Steven Jackson. Todd is special. CB Marcus PetersComing off of a horrid performance against the Seattle Seahawks last week, Marcus Peters found redemption on a snowy day in Colorado. Outside of one short reception by Demaryius Thomas toward the end of the game, the Broncos avoided Peters side of the field for almost the entire game. Many of Peters better days will look like this, absolutely quiet, beautifully quiet. Now, if Troy Hill can have better day’s than he did in Denver, the Rams should be okay until Aqib Talib returns. Well done MP22 Authentic Jamon Brown Jersey , we see you! Rams run defenseThe Broncos have had one of the better rushing attacks in the NFL this season, but they didn’t on Sunday. Coming off a game in Seattle where the Rams’ defense surrendered 190 yards to Seahawks’ running backs, they stepped up against the Broncos and only allowed 60 yards on the ground. Whenever Broncos running backs Royce Freeman or Phillip Lindsey looked for daylight against the Rams, they found night. The Rams Big 3 up front were there, patiently read plays, and tackled well. Cory Littleton played another solid game, and continues to move well horizontally to find contact before runs develop into big plays.

Bills Matt Milano Jersey

Brandon Beane clarifies why Corey Coleman was cut When the Buffalo Bills traded a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2020 to the Cleveland Browns for former first-round draft pick Corey Coleman Bills Matt Milano Jersey , the conventional wisdom had Coleman emerging as one of Buffalo’s best wide receivers. At the very least, Coleman was expected to serve as a valuable deep threat, someone to take the top off of opposing defenses with his speed and athleticism. Instead, following a preseason where Coleman, the No. 15 overall selection out of Baylor, struggled to learn the playbook and failed to make a splash on the field, Coleman was one of 34 Bills cut during Saturday afternoon’s roster cut-down. In a comprehensive sit-down interview with Tim Graham of The Athletic, second-year Bills general manager Brandon Beane addressed the rationale behind cutting Coleman from a corps that, on the outside, appears to be one of the weakest in the NFL. Coleman caught only one pass out of 62 snaps in three preseason games, and whenever he was on the field, he seemed lost and out of sorts trying to operate in Brian Daboll’s complex offense.Despite the fact that Beane said the speedster “tried hard. He really did,” it wasn’t enough to make Coleman earn a roster spot over unproven talents like Robert Foster and Ray-Ray McCloud III. “Where he came in to learn a new offense, he just didn’t jell. It’s one of those things you ask yourself, ‘Have we given this enough time?’ Beane said. “The talent’s there. Anybody that’s been around the practice field, you see he has a skill set. But we just never were able to make it mesh on the field with him, and it’s a production business.”While Coleman missed 13 games his first two seasons (suffered a broken hand injury in each season), he is a known speedster (4.37 40 time) whose presence was expected to immediately gives Buffalo a credible deep threat. While he has shown glimpses of his potential, with 56 catches for 718 yards and five touchdowns in his first two years, his potential didn’t stop Beane from moving on from Coleman less than a month after acquiring him. This despite the addition of a $3.5 million dead money hit against Buffalo’s 2018 cap, including Coleman’s guaranteed 2018 salary and his guaranteed 2019 salary, which accelerates into the Bills’ 2018 cap. “People think, ‘Oh, GMs love to protect their draft picks.’ Well, if I’m protecting my draft picks, I gave a seventh-round pick for this guy and guaranteed some cash [$3.55 million for the 2018 season]. You don’t want to see that. But you’ve got to be true to who earned the spot Rafael Bush Jersey , and we just felt in the limited time that we were still unsure it was going to work, and to kick someone else out that we knew would work or felt better about, we just didn’t feel that was right,” Beane said when providing his rationale for keeping unproven wideouts like Foster, an undrafted rookie free agent out of Alabama, and McCloud, a sixth-round draft pick out of Clemson. “We talk about earning your spot. We just didn’t feel he’d done enough to earn it, and in fairness to Corey, it is hard to get here in August and learn an offense when you’re fighting for reps and haven’t practiced with any of these quarterbacks. That’s where I left myself late Friday night as I was debating this: ‘Am I being fair to Corey, and am I being fair to the team?’ At the end of the day, I have to be fair to the team.” Tyrod Taylor remembers winning the starting job, throwing touchdown passes and seeing die-hard fans standing in snow at Buffalo's airport on New Year's Eve to celebrate the end of a 17-year playoff drought. His three years with the Bills were special, filled with long-lasting memories. His exit wasn't.Traded to Cleveland in March for a third-round draft pick (No. 65 overall), Taylor said Tuesday that he holds no bitterness toward the Bills, but that the team's decision to part ways with him is fueling his desire to deliver for the Browns. It's driving him."Each year has its own way of motivating itself," Taylor said. "But definitely how I think it ended there, it's motivation for this year."Coming off a "perfect" performance in his preseason debut for the Browns last week, Taylor, who has quickly established himself as a leader in Cleveland, will face his former teammates for the first time Friday night when the Bills visit in the second exhibition for both teams.Taylor made it clear that there's no resentment and that his focus this week, and every week, is on improving the Browns — not paying back the Bills."I'm looking forward to Week 2 of the preseason," Taylor said. "I'm not going to make this about me or Buffalo. It's an opportunity for us to get better as a team, an opportunity for me to get better as a player."While that's honorable, Taylor reiterated that if somewhere down the line the Browns and Bills ever matched up in the postseason, he'd love to show Buffalo what it's missing."I wouldn't say it was painful Josh Allen Jersey ," Taylor said of being dealt by the Bills. "I have nothing to hold (hang) my head about in my time in Buffalo. It was a progression from a players' standpoint each and every year, but of course why would I not want to beat that team in the playoffs if it comes down to that?"I'm always excited to compete. But I know those guys, played against those guys, the majority of those guys for the past three years, some new players and I'd love to play against those guys."It didn't take long for the 29-year-old Taylor to ingratiate himself to the Browns. He has set an example on and off the field, whether arriving at 5 a.m. to get in an early morning workout or staying late to break down film. It's the only way Taylor knows, and he's having a strong influence on rookie Baker Mayfield, the No. 1 overall pick who will one day supplant him as Cleveland's starter.Mayfield said Taylor is showing him how to be a professional."Just the work ethic and everything he brings to the table every day," Mayfield said, when asked about Taylor's standards. "It's the same every day. You hear (offensive coordinator) coach (Todd) Haley talk about 'not being a yo-yo guy. You want to be consistent,' and Ty really, really is the example of that."He's the same guy every day. You know exactly what you're going to get out of him, and that's important for our guys to see that. They see the standard. They see the expectations, and he lives up to it every day."Taylor set a high bar for himself last week by recording a perfect 158.3 rating in two series against the New York Giants. He completed 5 of 5 passes for 99 yards and a touchdown before turning the offense over to Mayfield, who shined in his NFL preseason debut.Mayfield's performance prompted a push — locally and nationally — for the Browns to start the Heisman Trophy winner over Taylor. But while there's noise outside the Browns, Taylor's world is tranquil."I really don't hear those comments," he said. "I've always been focused on myself. Like I said from Day One, I'm in competition with myself and how can I make myself better each and every day and I'm going to keep having that mindset and push myself to be the best player I can be."NOTES: Tempers flared during practice, which featured three fights, including one involving Pro Bowl WR Jarvis Landry and starting CB Terrence Mitchell. As Landry rolled on the ground following a catch, Mitchell went over the top of him and hit the receiver's back. Landry popped up and slammed the ball of Mitchell's helmet before they grabbed each other's facemasks. Coach Hue Jackson chalked the skirmishes up to the dog days of camp. "This is football. We have been going after it," Jackson said. "It is not something that we want. We are men. Guys know as long as we do not start swinging with our fists and we let it go, we can move on from it." ... Former Ohio State DT Jonathan Hankins is scheduled to work out for the Browns on Wednesday. He previously played for the Giants and Colts.

For the second straight Wednesday, Green Bay Packers fans are asking how the team will replace a safety who has been playing significant snaps this season. A week ago, we were trying to figure out how the team would adjust to trading away Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, who had missed essentially no snaps in the last two-plus seasons. This week, it’s the release of hybrid safety/slot corner/dime linebacker Jermaine Whitehead that has fans of the Green and Gold wondering what is to come.We learned a bit more about the reasons for Whitehead’s release late on Tuesday, as you’ll see in today’s Cheese Curds , though the explicit rationale has not yet been discussed publicly. (Keep an eye out for Mike McCarthy’s press conference today to see what his response is about that move, however.)Regardless, there’s another hole in the lineup, and the way that the Packers covered up that hole after Whitehead’s ejection on Sunday can give us some indication as to how the team will adjust. One critical piece will be utilizing Josh Jones more on defense, whether that’s in a traditional safety role or as a linebacker in Nitro alignments. Another key piece may be Ibraheim Campbell, the recently-acquired safety who has experience in Mike Pettine’s defense.Kevin King’s injury complicates things, as the coaching staff may determine that they need Tramon Williams at cornerback again this week. They could keep him at safety and start a trio of Jaire Alexander, Josh Jackson, and Bashaud Breeland, but they’ll need a contingency plan at a minimum. At least the Packers get to play against the Dolphins and quarterback Brock Osweiler this week, who has thrown for just 6.2 yards per attempt over the past two games. Osweiler also has no touchdowns and one interception in that time.Green Bay Packers Hall Of Fame Inc. to induct Ted Thompson | Packers.comThompson will become the 162nd member of the Packers Hall of Fame next May. He of course drafted Aaron Rodgers and built the team that won Super Bowl XLV, but even so this seems like an awfully quick turnaround from when he stepped down as GM.Why the Packers moved on from safety Jermaine Whitehead | Packersnews.comIt sounds like the front office did not think too highly of Whitehead in general, despite his ability to play multiple positions on defense. While his ejection on Sunday may have been the impetus for the move , it certainly wasn’t the sole reason.Packers’ inexplicable lack of balance dooms offense vs. Patriots | Packers WireThe Patriots frequently gave the Packers six-man boxes on Sunday night, and when the Packers did run the ball, they had great success. So why didn't they stick with it?The Aarons (Rodgers and Jones) must carry Packers in second half - ESPNRob Demovsky predicts that the Packers will go 6-2 in the second half of the season, which would put them at 9-6-1 overall. There's a chance that might be enough to win the division, but that probably would require a win over the Vikings in three weeks, which is not in the prediction. The 2015 NFL draft first rounders have fallen short - SBNation.comThe Packers dealt 29th pick Damarious Randall to Cleveland this offseason but he was a reportedly healthy scratch for the Browns' first game with Gregg Williams as head coach.Falcons sign ex-Raider Bruce Irvin to one-year deal - NFL.comWell, it was a fun idea while it lasted. Youth Randall Cobb Jersey

So much for a setback.Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers Youth Randall Cobb Jersey , who said earlier this week that he suffered a setback to his knee injury that may entail wearing a bigger brace (if the brace gets any bigger it will be wearing him), has once again exited the final injury report in advance of Monday night’s game against the 49ers.Rodgers has no injury designation for the Week Six matchup against the 1-4 49ers.Eight Packers are listed as questionable for the game: cornerback Jaire Alexander (groin), receiver Geronimo Allison (hamstring), cornerback Brashaud Breeland (hamstring), tackle Bryan Bulaga (knee) Youth Mike Daniels Jersey , receiver Randall Cobb (hamstring), guard Justin McCray (shoulder), tackle Jason Spriggs (ankle), and safety Jermaine Whitehead (back).Tight end Jimmy Graham missed Thursday’s practice with a knee injury. He also exited the final report.Rodgers originally injured his knee in Week One against the Bears. He missed the rest of the opening half of the season-opening game, and he has played ever since.Packers LB Jake Ryan carted off practice field Youth Kenny Clark Jersey , per report The day of defensive injuries continues for the Green Bay Packers. After seeing Kentrell Brice and Mike Daniels depart practice with injuries, linebacker Jake Ryan left on a cart after suffering an apparently serious injury to his right leg, according to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky.Ryan entered training camp as the front-runner to start at inside linebacker next to Blake Martinez. Ryan has dealt with serious leg issues in the past, suffering a torn ACL during his collegiate career at Michigan. Prior to his injury, Ryan’s most notable moment Monday came when newly acquired tight end Jimmy Graham beat him deep. The severity of Ryan’s injury remains unclear , though typically players that leave practice on a medical cart don’t return for some time. Brice, who also left on a cart, did not return to action. Daniels, however, came back later in the session.Entering his fourth year in the NFL Youth Kevin King Jersey , Ryan has appeared in 43 games while making 27 starts. He has recorded 137 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble during that time.

Cheap Dion Dawkins Jersey

Today Cheap Dion Dawkins Jersey , the Buffalo Bills claimed WR Isaiah McKenzie off of waivers from the Denver Broncos and have released rookie WR Cam Phillips.Phillips was somewhat of a camp standout this summer, but he hasn't had much playing time or production from the receiver spot to this point in the regular season. During the 2018 season, he has 1 catch on one target for 9 yards. The Bills tried to sign McKenzie off the Broncos practice squad about a week ago, but instead the Broncos promoted him to the 53-man roster as a result of Chad Kelly being cut after his arrest for criminal trespass. McKenzie was a fifth-round pick in 2017 for the Broncos. In his rookie season Cheap Shaq Lawson Jersey , he appeared in 11 games but only caught four passes for 29 yards. This season, McKenzie has appeared in just one game thus far, racking up zero catches. McKenzie does add some value to special teams as a punt returner. He even took a 78-yard punt back for a touchdown in the preseason against the Minnesota Vikings. He has some explosiveness and speed that the Bills seriously lack on offense. Buffalo Bills cornerback Taron Johnson has left the game against the New York Jets with a shoulder injury. It’s been an ongoing problem for the rookie, who missed a game earlier in the year with the same problem.Johnson Bills Vladimir Ducasse Jersey , the 2018 fourth-round pick, has played a majority of snaps for the Bills in 2018. He’s been the team’s primary slot cornerback all year after beating out Phillip Gaines during training camp. He missed Week 2 after injuring his shoulder. He’s known for laying some big hits, but if he keeps injuring himself, he may want to rethink that philosophy. After the release of Gaines Authentic Stephen Hauschka Jersey , the Bills promoted Levi Wallace from the practice squad at cornerback. Ryan Lewis found his way into the game after the injury to Johnson. Deon Lacy also saw time in the defensive backfield.Johnson had one interception and three defended passes before today’s game in addition tohis 33 tackles.

Samson Ebukam Jersey

Carson Wentz is sidelined with a back injury Samson Ebukam Jersey , but two people familiar with the situation tell The Associated Press the Eagles quarterback hasn't been ruled out for Philadelphia's game at the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Both people spoke on condition of anonymity Wednesday because the team hasn't made any definitive determination, pending further evaluation and testing."Carson has a little bit of back soreness, a little tightness, so we're going to rest him today, continue to evaluate him and make sure he's good," Eagles coach Doug Pederson said. "Sometimes he just gets a little sore, a little tight. Just going to rest him today and evaluate him further."Pederson said the problem isn't a result of a hit or anything that happened in the last game, a 29-23 overtime loss at Dallas that dropped the defending Super Bowl champions to 6-7."Nothing game related," Pederson said. "He's dealt with it Authentic Austin Blythe Jersey , and so we're going to continue to evaluate."Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles would start if Wentz can't play. Foles hasn't taken a snap since Week 2 but is taking reps with the first team in practice.Wentz tore two ligaments in his left knee last Dec. 10 and missed the first two games this season. Foles replaced him and led Philadelphia to its first NFL title since 1960.Wentz has 3,074 yards passing, 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He has career highs in passer rating (102.2) and completion rate (69.6 percent). Wentz finished third in the NFL MVP voting last year.He was injured a few plays before tossing his fourth TD pass of the game in a victory at the Rams last year. Foles stepped in and helped the Eagles rally from a 35-31 deficit to beat Los Angeles and clinch the NFC East title. Foles then led the Eagles to wins at the Giants and over Oakland to help the team secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC.Foles was outstanding in the NFC championship game against Minnesota and the Super Bowl against New England. He was 26 of 33 for 352 yards and three TDs in the 38-7 win over the Vikings and 28 of 43 for 373 yards, three TDs and one interception in the 41-33 victory over the Patriots.Foles is 21-12 as a starter, including playoffs, in two stints with Philadelphia. The Eagles were 1-1 in Foles' starts this season.Los Angeles Rams training camp Week 3: Stock up, stock down After a miserable performance in preseason week one, the Los Angeles Rams rebounded with a win at home vs the Oakland Raiders.Let’s take a look at who showed up to play, and who didn’t:Stock DownQB Brandon AllenAllen was handed a whole half to operate and make hay Youth Jared Goff Jersey , and it wasn’t pretty. Allen had a fourth-quarter touchdown to an open WR in Steven Mitchell, and threw the ball out of bounds. He also had a very bad interception staring down a WR and not noticing the underneath zone defender. Allen had some okay moments too, but it doesn’t look like he is QB2 worthy either.OT Darrell WilliamsAt first glance, I actually didn’t think Williams had a terrible day. He might have had a slip up once or twice, but this is more about the other offensive lineman playing great (Joe Noteboom, Jamil Demby) and less about Williams himself.QB Sean MannionOutside of one nice deep pass (47 yards) to KhaDarel Hodge, Mannion managed to complete nine passes for 37 yards. Talk about captain checkdown.WR Fred BrownBrown received playing time early and had multiple passes hit his hands that he couldn’t secure. He also struggled to create a lot of separation. Brown looks to be falling behind in the WR race with a few other guys performing well.Stock UpRB John KellyAlthough the statistics took a hit, Kelly once again had a solid day. He routinely churns his legs to create chunks of yardage, and always finishes his runs in a punishing manner. He scored his first NFL touchdown as well.WR KhaDarel HodgeThe model-turned-WR probably had the best day of anyone in a Rams uniform on the day. Hodge had a tremendous 47-yard grab down the right sideline on a go route. With the defender draped all over him , Hodge secured the pass and survived the ground. He had another reception for 10 yards as well, and a few more instances where he was open but the quarterbacks missed him.S Marqui ChristianChristian has separated himself as the sure-fire third safety in the pecking order. Not only that, but the Rams have had Christian on the field in dime packages as a sub-package linebacker. Christian was extremely active today, routinely making tackles both in coverage and in the run game. He’s tough as nails too, punishing whatever comes his way.S Afolabi LagudaThe undrafted free agent had at terrific day. Laguda was solid but unspectacular in coverage, though he showed a nose for the football often cleaning up runs that broke into the second level. Laguda showed a lot of range today and the ability to play from sideline-to-sideline.

Saints vs. Falcons: Week 3 live game thread [Saints fans: Sign up for FanPulse , our weekly Saints survey]Week 3 has somewhat important things at stake, as the New Orleans Saints (1-1) travel to take on the Atlanta Falcons (1-1) in an early NFC South showdown. The Saints look to pick up their first road win of the season, and are also looking to avoid falling to 0-2 in the divisional race. It’ll be the 99th time these two teams meet, which includes one postseason meeting. Atlanta leads the all-time series 52-46. Both teams split their games in 2017, with each home team winning their respective matchup. The Saints have lost three out of the last four on the road, with a lone win from the 2015 season to show for. It’s Matt Ryan vs. Drew Brees. Dan Quinn matching wits with Sean Payton. Julio Jones and Michael Thomas in action. Need I say more for the NFL’s most underrated rivalry? What’s your game predicition? At the very least, Eli Apple didn't have to worry about whether he'd be welcomed warmly in the corner of Saints headquarters where the defensive backs' lockers are clustered.Apple's former Ohio State teammates, cornerback Marshon Lattimore and safety Vonn Bell, took care of that."We're glad to have him," Bell said, smiling widely.Added Lattimore, "I know what he's capable of. I know the skillset. He's a great player, a big player, strong. He's got good feet. He's going to get it right."For the Saints' sake , he'd better.New Orleans enters its Week 8 test at Minnesota ranked 28th in the NFL against the pass, allowing nearly 276 yards per game through the air. Making matters worse has been the timing of some the Saints' coverage busts, most recently at the end of Sunday's victory at Baltimore , when Ravens receiver John Brown caught what should have been a tying touchdown pass in the final half-minute with no defender near him. Baltimore's extra point kick sailed wide, however, and New Orleans (5-1) escaped with another victory. In Week 2 against Cleveland , the Saints gave up a game-tying, 47-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Calloway with 1:16 to go and would have fallen behind if kicker Zane Gonzalez hadn't missed an extra point. New Orleans then needed a field goal with 21 seconds left to clinch that victory.Lattimore said New Orleans has been "terrible" in 2-minute defense. So when the Saints had an opportunity on Tuesday to acquire Apple , who was a 2016 New York Giants first-round draft choice, in exchange for a 2019 fourth-round draft pick and 2020 seventh-rounder, they seized it."We felt like it was in our best interest," Saints coach Sean Payton said. "We felt like it was going to help us this year."Apple, 23, practiced with New Orleans for the first time on Wednesday. And while his status for this Sunday's game remains unclear Cheap Alex Anzalone Jersey , he said he was "very excited" to be traded to New Orleans from the languishing Giants, a team with which he has struggled at times and come under public criticism from teammates and staff."It's a great organization here, a lot of great players, too," Apple said after his first Saints practice. "I just can't wait to come in and contribute."Apple's future in New York seemed tenuous since the 2017 season, when Giants safety Landon Collins called Apple a "cancer," and when Apple also was suspended for confrontational behavior toward coaches during practice. This season, however, Apple seemed to be following through on his pledge that his attitude would be "all business." In five games with the Giants this fall, he'd made or assisted on 22 tackles, defended five passes, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble.Asked in New Orleans if he needed a change of scenery, Apple responded, "I wouldn't necessarily say I needed it , but it's great to have one right now.""A lot of juice around here," Apple added. "A lot of excitement."Payton, who normally emphasizes the importance of character in the players he acquires, said he was comfortable Apple could help after speaking with the defensive back's former teammates who now play for the Saints."It's not uncommon that we would visit with certain players on a roster about guys they might've played with in college or maybe with prior to (on) another NFL team," Payton said. "We felt good on the information. We like the skillset and we're excited."In addition to Lattimore and Bell, Apple was Ohio State teammates with receiver Michael Thomas and often competed against him in practice."It was a heavy-weight fight every day," Bell recalled, adding that both players practiced so intensely they had to be physically separated a few times. "It was competing at its best."Notes: Left guard Andrus Peat, who sat out Sunday's game in Baltimore with a head injury that had occurred in practice the previous week, returned to practice on Wednesday and said he expects to play this week. ... Center Max Unger (hand) and reserve guard Josh LeRibeus (ankle) sat out practice. ... Safety Marcus Williams practiced, but was listed on the Saints' injury report with a groin injury. Andy Reid was surprisingly candid about Chiefs’ defensive struggles Saturday One thing that needs to be realized going into this post is that Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is never going to publicly criticize his players. As a media member Kansas City Chiefs T-Shirt , that can be frustrating but it’s the reason players love to play for him and probably one of the reasons why, in 2018, he’ll be coaching his 20th consecutive season.I bring that up here because a little criticism is the most you’re ever going to get from Reid, and that’s what we got on Saturday afternoon during his press conference.Bears quarterback and former Chief went 15 of 18 for 198 yards and two touchdowns on the Chiefs’ first-team defense. Daniel also had six carries for 47 yards on the ground. One of the players Reid was asked about was new Chiefs cornerback Orlando Scandrick, who was victimized by a double-move courtesy of Bears up-and-coming receiver Kevin White.Scandrick bit, and the Bears and White scored a 29-yard touchdown. “He got caught on a double move,” Reid said of Scandrick during his post-game presser. “That’s going to happen. He’s just kind of getting used to what we’re all about. He’s a veteran player and he’ll be all right. One positive is he was challenging during the day. So we’ve got to do better with that. On the back end, just get up and, you know, challenge. That’s primary.”Reid was asked if he was worried about CB David Amerson, who also surrendered a touchdown.“I’m not, but you’ve got to tighten it up a little bit,” Reid said. “You’ve got to do better than what we did today. He’s a willing worker, so he’ll get back and do that. I’ve seen him do better. He’s just got to pick that up. Again Kansas City Chiefs Hats , he’s one of the new guys that the more he plays and sees these things, what he can kind of get away with. “We’re also playing man-cover. That’s where he’s getting in trouble there. So he’s got to learn the angles and the routes and all of that that they’re using. This is all valuable for him.”One of the prevailing thoughts out there is that the Chiefs may have underestimated the Bears, who opted to go with their second-teamers Saturday. Chase played like a starter against the Chiefs.Photo by Jonathan Daniel/Getty ImagesReid essentially said that mentality is unacceptable. “Yeah, listen, human nature might be that, but you’ve got to fight that,” Reid said. “I’ve seen Chase. You all have seen this. San Diego had a chance to go to the playoffs if they beat us. And Chase goes out and plays like this right here. So you’ve got to, you know, you can’t let your guard down at all you’ve got to continue to challenge, you’ve got to tackle. Those are the things I was looking for. We’ve got to do better on that. “Our tackling wasn’t good. You’ve got to go back to the offensive side. Same thing there. Our blocking wasn’t good enough in the run game. So they were throwing a few different looks at us. But that will help us during the season. They’re a little bit full-season mode here as they go on offense and defense. So it was great work for us here. But we’ve got to do a better job blocking.”Reid typically rests all of his starters for the final preseason game, but perhaps the Chiefs run some of their defensive players who may need the reps, like Scandrick and Amerson, on Thursday night against the Green Bay Packers. As we saw in Tuesday’s Week 9 Pundit Power Rankings, the national writers all left the Kansas City Chiefs in exactly the same spot after they defeated the Denver Broncos 30-23 on Sunday Kansas City Chiefs Womens Hoodie , but put the New Orleans Saints ahead of the Chiefs following their 30-20 win over the the Minnesota Vikings. But the number-crunchers saw Week 8’s results differently. Here’s how the crunchers see the NFL in Week 9:Cruncher Power Rankings for Week 9Chiefs AFC West Teams Other AFC TeamsThe Chiefs are now in first place with three of the crunchers — rising to first place in the SRS rankings for the first time — which is enough to put them in first place in our cruncher rankings. Why?The Los Angeles Rams barely held on to beat the Green Bay Packers, winning by only two points. The Chiefs won by seven against the Broncos.but going into Week 8, Elo saw the Packers and Broncos as below-average teams, so it didn’t give either the Chiefs or the Rams big rewards for their wins.On the other hand, SRS liked the Broncos more than the Packers, and gave the Chiefs a bigger boost for their win.But the other problem for the Rams was the New England Patriots. The Patriots moved ahead of the Rams in Elo after beating the Buffalo Bills by 19 points.Elo didn’t like the Bills much, either — but the Patriots won by a lot.The Houston Texans moved up the most in the cruncher rankings, rising four spots this week after defeating the Miami Dolphins 42-23.The Vikings had the biggest drop, falling five places after their aforementioned loss to the Saints. This week’s biggest disagreement among the crunchers is interesting. The Cincinnati Bengals beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 37-34.The win pushed the Bengals up one spot in both Elo and PE.But the Bengals rose five positions in DVOA, and dropped five in SRS.How can this be?Remember that neither of these systems care much about winning or losing.SRS doesn’t care at all, and DVOA is more focused on how a team plays situational football. So DVOA saw an improvement in how the Bengals played, while SRS just saw a narrow point differential against a team that it doesn’t like very much.Keep this in mind. We’ll come back to it a little later. So what happens when we average our Cruncher Power Rankings with this week’s Pundit Power Rankings?Let’s look at the Week 9 True Power Rankings.True Power Rankings for Week 9Chiefs AFC West Teams Other AFC TeamsAs you can see, the Chiefs are still ranked second in the this week’s True Power Rankings — still tops in the AFC.There’s remarkable consistency at very the top — the top four spots are unchanged for the third week in a row, although as we have seen Womens Customized Kansas City Chiefs Jerseys , the pundits and the crunchers disagree about them a little. The Philadelphia Eagles fell out of the top 10, while the Vikings moved in.Elsewhere at the top, the Baltimore Ravens dropped again, and the Carolina Panthers moved up.The Jacksonville Jaguars took up residence in the bottom 10, and the Indianapolis Colts climbed out. This week, the most disagreement between the pundits and crunchers is with the Broncos and the Vikings. The pundits are not impressed with the Broncos, but the crunchers like them more. This week, the reverse is true for the Vikings — the pundits have a lot more faith in them than the crunchers. And here’s your weekly reality-check. Let’s take a look at the Week 9 cruncher grades:Cruncher Grades for Week 9Chiefs AFC West Teams Other AFC TeamsAP user SonOfAVeach made a good comment on Tuesday’s Pundit Power Rankings article, saying the top four teams in the eyes of the pundits — the Chiefs, Rams, Saints and Patriots, in no particular order — are pretty much interchangeable. That’s exactly what we see here. The pundits may disagree about one team or another, but based on what the crunchers think, these teams would all be pretty equivalent on a neutral field.Sharp-eyed readers might also note that in the grades table Authentic Patrick Mahomes Jersey , the Rams are ahead of the Chiefs. That’s because in this table, we’re averaging not the grades, but the standard deviations from average values that stand behind the grades. In the earlier table, we were averaging the rankings — and sometimes the math works out differently. The difference between those values in this table for the Rams and Chiefs — they are 1.76376 and 1.73409 respectively — is in no way significant, but the table is sorted in descending order anyway. And before we wrap this up, let’s re-examine the disparity between the cruncher rankings for the Bengals we discussed earlier.SRS and DVOA appeared to sharply disagree about how the Bengals should be ranked compared to last week. But here we see that DVOA only moved the Bengals from a C- to a C.That’s a measurable difference, but not a significant one.And SRS — despite the five position drop it showed for the Bengals in its rankings — has the Bengals unchanged with a C.This is a great example of why we should always be careful about paying too much attention to how rankings change — for any kind of statistic.Sometimes it means something significant, and sometimes it doesn’t.That’s why we show you these grades every week.So let’s get into Week 9, and see what happens — the Rams game against the Saints could have a big impact! On Tuesday, we’ll open up the magic power rankings spreadsheet, and start to figure out how it all shakes out.
