Eddie Jones ready Jersey to choose Dylan Hartley

Eddie Jones ready Jersey to choose Dylan Hartley Dylan Hartley will captain England during the Six Nations Championship next year, barring the return of any red mist. It is the strongest public statement Eddie Jones has made about Hartley’s role and it came on the same day he dropped him for the first time. As the Australian coach is never shy of saying, “contradictions are a big part of life”. Women's Adidas Philadelphia Flyers #11 Travis Konecny Premier Green Salute to Service NHL Jersey While that may be so, the message from the side Jones has picked to face Samoa is clear. Appointing Chris Robshaw and George Ford as co-captains is not only a neat way of avoiding raking up too much of the former captain’s annus horribilis in 2015, but also an endorsement of how both are integral parts of his intended leadership group for the 2019 World Cup. Youth Nike Chicago Bears #12 Markus Wheaton Navy Blue Alternate Vapor Untouchable Limited Player NFL Jersey “All things being equal, and [Dylan] doesn’t have one of those mystical experiences at Franklin’s Gardens, he’ll be captain for the Six Nations,” Jones said. “But we want to test our ability, if Dylan’s not available, to put a team on the field and have leadership density. It’s an opportunity for these guys to show it. Just because the tradition is that you have one captain, it doesn’t mean that you have to.” Captaincy apart, Jones has grasped the nettle and changed more than half of the starting lineup for England’s final match of the autumn. To describe it as experimental, though, would be to forget how meticulously planned England’s World Cup preparations are. “I’ve always been a fan of the way the All Blacks have done it historically,” Jones said. “When they used to have those old tours, midweek Jordan Poyer Youth jersey they’d always keep a stable spine of the team and then change other positions.” Indeed, like his predecessor, Stuart Lancaster, Jones already has an ideal number of combined caps for the World Cup in mind. “I could imagine that we’ll have a starting XV of around 700-750 caps, which is perfect,” he said. “Having been Authentic Karl Malone Jersey through difficult situations you know what you have to do, you’ve got the ability to handle those pressure situations, the ability to communicate, to keep the right body language … all of those things come from experience.” Jones bristled at the suggestion, however, that this is also a side – with Danny Care, Ford, Alex Lozowski and Henry Slade all starting together for the first time since the first Test in Argentina – set Jakub Kindl Womens Jersey up to go around Samoa rather than through them. “The greatest challenge for us Victor Rask Womens Jersey is to be disciplined, and to be physical,” he said. “Keep the game nice and structured and tight, and then it becomes a game that you can manage.” That may be evidence of how complacency is the dirtiest word in Jones’s vocabulary but, in truth, England should have few troubles against Samoa and he did go as far as to acknowledge the Pacific island teams are far more competitive at World Cups, when they have had sufficient time together to prepare. That said, England open their 2019 World Cup campaign against Tonga and Saturday therefore, is acting as a “dress rehearsal”. “This will be Samoa’s big game. Particularly with all the hoo-ha that’s going around they’ll be motivated,” said Jones, who worked as a consultant for Samoa in 2006. “I know the Samoans as well as I know any team and I know that when they get their emotional level right they’re a bloody hard side to beat.” The motivation Jones refers to does not, however, come from the decision of England’s players not to donate a part of their £22,000 match fees to their Samoan counterparts, who are due to earn approximately £650 each from the contest on Saturday, according to their captain, Chris Vui. “It’s not their problem to have to give us money. It’s not their fault at all,” he said.

Ashes call Jersey would be sweet David Wheeler has uncommon priorities for a professional footballer. The first part of his bio on Twitter reads: “Sports Science Graduate at Brunel University.” The second part reveals that he is also a professional footballer for QPR. He subscribes to the New Statesman and is an ambassador for Make Votes Vince Biegel Womens Jersey Matter (the third part of his Twitter bio) in the campaign to overhaul British democracy and bring proportional representation to the House of Commons. “It’s something I strongly believe in. At 16 he had no other choice. Released by Brighton, his chances of making it as a professional drifted. It was time to focus on the real world and studying for a sports science degree at Brunel University. A daring and diligent winger who was surprisingly strong in the air, Wheeler didn’t let the dream die completely. He played part-time for Lewes and then Staines Town, who he joined to be closer to the Brunel Geronimo Allison Womens Jersey campus, before Exeter City spotted his talent during a trial in 2013. Wheeler spent four years in Paul Tisdale’s first team, culminating in his best campaign last season when he scored 13 goals en route to Exeter’s appearance in the League Two play-off final. They lost to Blackpool at Wembley but Wheeler was offered the chance to jump up two divisions with QPR in August. “I certainly felt it was more of a culture shock going from non-league to league football, because training every day was a big thing and you have to have so much care about everything you do. With every pass you make, the decisions you make, a lot more thought has to go into it. The big thing going from League Two to the Championship is that everyone’s an athlete. In the Championship most players are very athletic, very fit, very strong, which is a real challenge.”

Why Chris Woakes Jersey can be England’s danger

Why Chris Woakes Jersey can be England’s danger Welcome to the Gabbatoir, where for the past 29 years Australia have been unbeatable in Test cricket. England will walk through the dark tunnel up from the dressing rooms and out into the middle to be met by harsh sunlight and 40,000 home supporters all willing them to fail. Nike NFL Greg Zuerlein Navy Blue Jersey Women's Game: #4 Los Angeles Rams Home It is a hostile venue to kick off this Ashes series and one that has seen many a visiting captain over the years drawn in by a hypnotic tinge of green on the surface, only to see their decision blow up in their face. Nasser Hussain doing so in 2002 is probably the most famous example between these two countries but he’s certainly not alone if you look through history. Men's Majestic Minnesota Twins #19 Kennys Vargas Replica Grey Road Cool Base MLB Jersey I remember that day well and being both mildly amused but also far from surprised. When I heard Nasser’s mindset at the toss, I understood where he was coming from to an extent, wanting to give his inexperienced attack the best chance of any movement. But really bowling first in Brisbane is a cop out. The first hour may be tricky but batsmen simply must stand up and do their job. Which lineup does so over the course of this Test and series will be fascinating, with Steve Smith and Joe Root two world-class performers leading out sides that have some vulnerabilities in their respective top sixes. It leads me to believe that Australia, knowing the conditions as they do and with a potentially more destructive bowling attack, Cordrea Tankersley Jersey will emerge on top come January. The two captains are cut from pretty similar cloth. It is strange for me to know the Englishman better than his Australian counterpart – given my time at Yorkshire – but I can say for a fact that both men should not be judged by their fresh-faced appearances and polite manners. You don’t get to that level of the game without having a bit of shit about you. Their teams are both blends of leading players and less established names and from the support cast of England, I expect Mark Stoneman and Chris Woakes to perform. I saw far too much of Stoneman during my time at Yorkshire and with it a temperament that can succeed at Test level. His game should suit Australia too because he’s very strong square of the wicket on both sides. Woakes first came to my attention in my final first-class match for Glamorgan in 2007. I was in the gents during our second innings and suddenly startled by banging on the door with team-mates frantically telling me I was in, this kid is on Corey Liuget Jersey a hat-trick. Back then he was getting the ball to talk with swing but it has been adding a Al Horford Jersey yard of pace that has turned him into a real threat. Jimmy Anderson could be borderline unplayable with the pink ball in the second Test at Adelaide and Stuart Broad should be able to draw on his experience four years ago when he stood up amid the wreckage. But across the course of the series I have a feeling Woakes will emerge as England’s leading bowler and it could be the making of him as a Test cricketer.

Channel Nine Jersey cricket commentary

Channel Nine Jersey cricket commentary Channel Nine last week announced that “Australia’s favourite voices of the summer” would commentate the 2017-18 Ashes series. According to Nine, they are: Bill Lawry, Ian Healy, Michael Slater, Mark Taylor, Ian Chappell, Michael Clarke and Shane Warne (with Michael Vaughan and Kevin Pietersen to appear Pat Lafontaine Womens Jersey later to make up the English component of the team). The Englishman Mark Nicholas will anchor. Unsurprisingly, the photo went on to draw the ire of an especially acerbic Twitter audience. There are a host of highly-qualified, popular women who commentate and have successfully navigated both women’s and men’s cricket. They include, but are not limited to, Mel Jones, Lisa Sthalekar, Alison Mitchell, Charlotte Edwards, Ebony-Jewel Rainford-Brent and Isa Guha. Jones and Sthalekar are established expert commentators and former Australian cricketers (Sthalekar a former captain), Mitchell is a one-time Sports Journalism Association Broadcaster of the Year, Edwards is a former England women’s cricket captain, commentator and coach with the Adelaide Strikers, and Guha and Rainford-Brent are former English cricketers. Additionally, Rainford-Brent was the first black woman to play for England, while Guha is of Bengali descent, Jones is of West Indian descent and Sthalekar is Indian-born. In other words, all of these women bring extensive experience in playing and analysing the game, while they are also culturally and ethnically diverse. Cleverly, Jones and Sthalker have been snapped up by ABC Grandstand, while Guha will represent Triple M, Mitchell BT Sport, ABC and the BBC and Rainford-Brent the BBC. These broadcasters are slowly but surely moving with the times. Even if those arrangements had been made prior to any approach from Nine, Edwards (among others) was likely also available. Some may argue that Channel Nine has only used commentators from the touring side’s home country – Waqar Zaka has, for example, commentated Pakistan Tests and Ian Smith New Zealand’s – but all these women also meet that unspoken policy. Nine is now an outlier persisting with a line-up that is out of touch with public perception . To put aside for the moment the question of gender, however, it is worth considering how much more diverse the commentary team could be if that unspoken policy was also reviewed. Then, names like the popular Michael Holding (former West Indies player ) or Harsha Bhogle Colton Sceviour Jersey (who has recently returned to the commentary box) might also be considered. At the very least, Holding and Bhogle would provide some international perspective on one of cricket’s oldest and most enthralling rivalries. Perhaps one of the most disappointing aspects of retaining the same old team is that, together, they churn out what fans have come to expect from white Australian blokes talking sport – a particular brand of middle-aged male banter that has been described as the stuff of “embarrassing dads”.

Brighton & Hove jersey Albion twice came

Brighton & Hove Albion twice came from behind to earn a draw at home to Stoke City and extend their unbeaten run to five matches with the home manager, Chris Hughton, grateful his team overcame the referee’s failure to award them a clear first-half penalty. Put to Mark Hughes that four of the five Premier League clubs beneath his side have sacked their managers this season, the Stoke manager smirked. “Why are you asking me?” he said. “If you don’t get results in this game you get sacked, unfortunately.” This, at least, proved thoroughly entertaining fare on a dank evening in east Sussex. Hughton had described Stoke as a “very manly side”, no Mark Barron Youth jersey doubt a nod to their attritional approach and one that again paid dividends for their opener. Xherdan Shaqiri’s floated ball over the Brighton defence in search of Choupo-Moting caught Lewis Dunk cold – by the time the defender realised the whereabouts of his man, the Stoke striker had coolly slotted his third goal of the season beyond Mathew Ryan, the goalkeeper. Ruffled after going behind, Brighton Womens Marcus Johansson Jersey were raging when Lee Mason awarded not a spot-kick but a goal-kick six minutes before the interval, when the Stoke captain Ryan Shawcross, already the crowd’s pantomime villain, cut down Glenn Murray inside the box. It really was the definition of a penalty. “I was just waiting for the referee to give it,” Hughton said. Hughes, by comparison, felt the referee, who was roundly booed off at the final whistle, got it right. “I think there was minimal contact,” the Stoke manager said. Kevin Friend, the fourth official, calmed Hughton over the penalty appeal and played peacemaker moments later when Hughes erupted at Murray’s Chuck Foreman Jersey meaty lunge on Kevin Wimmer. Once Brighton had composed themselves they pulled level, however. Then came the protracted celebrations, with Choupo-Moting joining the Chelsea loanee for a rehearsed jive in front of the North stand. Erik Pieters, too, joined in the fun from halfway.

Only three Jersey Gunners players feature

Only three Jersey Gunners players feature in our north The American couch potato has an insatiable appetite for sound and fury, and Sundays in the fall are a feeding frenzy. On one side of the dial there’s the NFL – the sport that doesn’t so much pit man against man as much as ram them together, over and over. On the other there’s Nascar, which takes those very mesmerizing bits of pro football – the speed, the collisions – and puts it all on wheels. For decades this split bill attracted crowds in droves. But now those crowds appear to be thinning. Men's Adidas Indiana Pacers #31 Reggie Miller Swingman Blue ABA Hardwood Classic NBA Jersey The players’ national anthem protest – which, just to remind everyone, is not meant to rebuke the armed forces but, rather, bring greater awareness to racial injustice – has made for a convenient scapegoat. Even commissioner Roger Goodell, whose early diplomatic tone on the issue landed him on the cover of Sports Illustrated interlocked with LeBron James and Steph Curry, leans on that excuse now. “People come to our stadiums to have fun not to be protested to,” he said earlier this month. Never mind that the NFL’s ratings problems run deeper than players kneeling during the anthem, which barely eats more than a minute of a broadcast that lasts at minimum three hours. In some ways the league set itself up for failure by committing so completely over the past decade to the rivalry between Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, the latter of whom retired two seasons ago after helping the Denver Broncos to victory in Super Bowl 50. Two star QBs who could step into that breach, Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers and Houston’s Deshaun Watson, are out with season-ending injuries. Thursday Night Football has proven to be a disastrous experiment, one that produces far more player injuries than actual entertainment. Meanwhile stories continue to emerge about the adverse effects football has on players’ long-term health. All of it makes the NFL that much more difficult to sit with. Still, things could be worse for the NFL. It could be Nascar. A decade ago the sport emerged as an unlikely challenger to pro football’s small-screen primacy, attracting nearly 20 million viewers to the 2006 Daytona 500. But Nascar has lost more than 45% of its audience since then, according to Nielsen. What’s more, equally dismal live spectator figures have compelled some tracks to remove seats Cameron Artis-Payne Jersey from their grandstands. Denny Hamlin, a star Nascar driver, has made his peace with this. “People with smartphones, they’re rewatching races in the back of their car going up the highway,” he said back in April. “You don’t have to attend these races anymore. You get such a good experience through your cellphone, so the way we measure attendance and we measure TV ratings and all that’s always skewed because we live in a different world now.” Like the NFL, Nascar can’t trace its decline back to a single source. Certainly the global financial crisis, which hit the automotive industry especially hard, didn’t help. Nor has Nascar’s compulsion to change its rules, especially the ones the define how its championships are won, on a whim. Worst Kenny Golladay Youth jersey of all, the sport can’t seem to stop hemorrhaging star drivers. Two years ago it saw the retirements of Jeff Gordon (a five-time series champion), Tony Stewart (a three-time champ) and Carl Edwards (an oft-snakebitten contender). This year Matt Kenseth (the 2003 series champion), Dale Earnhardt Jr (Nascar’s most popular driver) and Danica Patrick (its iconic female trailblazer) will call time. Many of the drivers racing in their stead are young and lightly experienced. The hope is that this will appeal to millennial viewers, a demographic Nascar struggles to attract. A recent entitlement pact with Monster Energy – which has brought, among other things, its caffeine-stuffed drinks and sexually charged brand ambassadors to the track – has done little to alter that fact so far.

Letter says Jersey Jones’s conduct is detrimental Having taken the catch that ended Cricket Australia’s XI innings, a sharp one above his head at short leg, Mark Stoneman turned and sprinted from the field with the purpose of a man aiming to score England’s first century of their Ashes tour and his first for the tourists. Youth Travis Shaw Replica Grey Majestic Jersey: MLB Milwaukee Brewers #21 Road Cool Base He fell shortly after tea in Townsville, that goal achieved but still furious – he battered a fist against his bat as he walked off having been caught and bowled by Dan Fallins for 111, while his helmet had stayed firmly on in his earlier celebration. The overall impression was that of a man ravenous for runs. Stoneman’s lowest score in four innings on tour is 51, which is one below his highest Test score – for now. The 30-year-old has looked quite superb, and this was his best innings yet. The same could be said of Alastair Cook (although from a significantly lower base), who cruised along in his slipstream and made 70 of their opening stand of 172. There were unbeaten half-centuries late on for Joe Root and Dawid Malan after tea, quite possibly the easiest and least rushed of their first-class careers. The lead is already 87 (CA had made 250, their innings ending nine balls into day two), and the run rate almost four an over. Of England’s XI, only Craig Overton (62) Womens Carter Hutton Jersey and Mason Crane (28) have played fewer matches than the combined 75 appearances of the 11 players they are facing. This was the first day the gulf truly showed. The pink ball in Adelaide proved a bit of a leveller for CA’s young attack, who never troubled England here. CA have pushed the boundaries with the standard of opposition they have provided – touring teams to England seldom face full county sides these days, but Australia’s opposition in 2015, Kent and Essex, at least were bulging with high-class batting. Thus England have done their most intense work away from the middle, because the nets have more life, too. Mark Ramprakash has been peppering them with short-pitched bowling using slightly lighter balls from his dog-thrower, and demanding 10 press-ups every time a wicket falls. The balls come quicker, senior players say, than anything they have seen before. Stoneman, unsurprisingly, has been top of the class. England have stayed stony-faced on the quality of the opposition. Stoneman fairly described the organising of tour matches as “above my pay grade” but said firmly: “We will be ready for the Gabba.” He acknowledged the step up that awaits, mind. “It’s going to be tested a hell of a lot more next week, that’s for sure,” he said of his technique. “There’s no doubts about that and everyone’s aware of it.” He added of the modest quality of opposition: “It’s going to have to be [enough]. We can’t change it. We’ve got what we’ve Carter Hutton Womens Jersey been given and that’s where self-awareness and working on your own game is key. Shane Bond Jersey tasked with getting England

Shane Bond Jersey tasked with getting England England have selected three seamers for their warm-up match here, with Jimmy Anderson rested and Jake Ball recovering from a week-old sprained ankle. Although the pitch is much more sluggish than the quick deck at the Gabba and the opposition plenty poorer than Australia’s top order, those three seamers – particularly Chris Woakes but Stuart Broad and Craig Overton, too – stuck right to England’s plan of the first Test. Nike NFL Jon Weeks Navy Blue Jersey Women's Limited: #46 Houston Texans Home Vapor Untouchable That plan has been devised by Shane Bond, the former New Zealand quick who might just want to win the Ashes more than most Englishmen do. “Everyone wants to beat Australia,” he says. “You want to be on the side versus Australia, no matter where you’re from. I want to beat these guys.” Bond is with England until the end of the second Test, when he rejoins Brisbane Heat as bowling coach, working under his former international team-mate Daniel Vettori. Chris Silverwood will coach England’s fast bowlers soon but Bond has been briefly hired because Gerald McCoy Authentic Jersey of his expertise with the Kookaburra ball and understanding of Australian conditions. “Sheez no,” is his response when asked if he will be doing anything technical with England’s quicks. His remit is tactical. “I’ve got a pretty good understanding of the way the game is played over here and it’s about instilling little bits of that in the guys,” says Bond, whose impact at international level was cruelly curtailed by a series of injuries. He managed only 18 Tests between 2001 and 2009 but picked up 87 wickets at 22. “England play the game differently to what we do in this part of the world,” he says. “It’s about getting them to understand that. They need to understand what attacking looks like and align our strengths to different fields and match them up against their batsmen.” So what does attacking look like? It might look rather defensive, actually. Broad has spoken on this tour about “swarming” Australia batsmen early in their innings, then retreating a touch. Joe Root has already employed some curious fielding positions, such as a closer catching point at the start of this match, while James Vince learned how busy life in the gully can be, with three fine catches, taken at speed. Bond says: “Joe and the analyst are doing some great work. By Brisbane we will have a very clear way of Gerald McCoy Authentic Jersey how we want to attack.” Bond has recognised that England do not have bowlers of express pace – Woakes will be the swiftest, touching 88-90mph at his quickest – but do possess accuracy and skill, so it is about making it hard to score. England found lateral movement on day one here but it was never substantial. Locating even the slightest bit of seam or swing from the Kookaburra will be vital. “The ball doesn’t move as much,” he says. “The pitches are harder. You have to set your fields differently. Listening to the boys about England, they know there’s always something in the wicket. Here, you won’t get that sideways movement or massive amounts of swing. If it swings it won’t be there all the time. You have to find different ways to skin a cat.

When the Jersey photographer Peter Widing

When the Jersey photographer Peter Widing It was July 1990, and a week which started with an earthquake in the Philippines that killed Nick Shore Jersey 1,621 people and ended with Roger Waters performing The Wall in front of almost 500,000 people in Berlin. The businessman Donald Trump was only a few minutes away from going bankrupt. Women's Nike Buffalo Bills #79 Jordan Mills Limited Pink Rush Fashion NFL Jersey The weather was sunny in Sweden between 15 and 21 July, pleasing all those in the middle of their holidays. The photographer Peter Widing, however, was not on holiday. He was working. The 22-year-old was covering a youth football tournament, the Gothia Cup, for the Expressen newspaper. By one of the pitches he stopped and raised his camera. Maybe he already felt he had captured something special, but it was not until he developed the film that he saw the result. The first time I saw what Widing had captured was 16 years later. I was doing work experience at the Offside football magazine and on the walls there were nine blown-up, framed photographs. All of them were taken by Widing. One was from a full Maracanã, another of Peter Schmeichel picking the ball out of the net during Euro 92. But the one I couldn’t take my eyes off was the picture Peter took that July day in 1990. Two blond, almost twin-like boys celebrating a goal Authentic Nick Shore Jersey or win. The shirts are neatly tucked into their shorts. In front of them, a chubby, sad opponent whose dreams had just been crushed. The picture would not have had the same devastating effect had it been taken a second earlier or later. It is a moment that requires the blond boys’ synchronised celebrations, which, in turn, would not have meant anything if it was not for the contrasting boy in tears and tight shirt. It is a work of art that I have loved for the past 11 years. When I had worked at Offside for a while and was given my own room I took the picture Authentic Nick Shore Jersey with me and hung it on the wall above my desk. I have looked at the boys so many times and wondered how their lives turned out. Sometimes I said to Peter that we should track them down. But he mainly shrugged and said it would never work. He was a man of few words and coming from him it meant something more like: “I will happily help if we really decide that we are going to do it.” We never did. On 29 May 2016 Peter killed himself. His death was unimaginable and affected me more than anything else I have experienced. He was not only a colleague for 10 years but also a special friend. It is said that time heals every wound and perhaps the sorrow has diminished but I do not want to forget him and the picture has an important part to play. It still hangs above my desk and every time I look at the three boys I think of Peter.
